EEO PUBLIC FILE REPORT

This EEO Public File Report is prepared for the reporting period commencing October 1, 2013 through September 30, 2014 (the “Reporting Period”) covering the station employment unit (“SEU”) which includes radio stations: (1) KXEN-AM, St. Louis, MO, licensed to BDJ Radio Enterprises, LLC, and (2) WGNU-AM, Granite City, IL, licensed to 920 AM, LLC.

Except for the following instance, there were no full-time vacancies during the Reporting Period: On March 11, 2014, the SEU’s full-time program director died suddenly and unexpectedly while on duty at the stations. Due to the exigency of the circumstances, the SEU did not engage in wide recruitment before hiring a new program director. In order to keep the stations running as efficiently as possible, a part-time employee, already familiar with the stations’ operations, was immediately promoted to the full-time program director position.

The SEU engaged in the following outreach initiatives during the Reporting Period:

-          had an internship program with a student from University of Missouri at St. Louis, in the Spring, 2014. Intern was instructed on the many aspects of operating a radio station including board operation and production techniques and has become a part time employee of the SEU.

-          had an internship program with a student from Southern Illinois University, in the Summer, 2014. Intern was instructed on the many aspects of operating a radio station including board operation and production techniques for the SEU.

-          had an internship program with a former student from Greenville College, in the Spring and Summer, 2014. Intern was instructed on the many aspects of operating a radio station including board operation and production techniques and has become a part time employee of the SEU.

-          co-sponsored a job fair with a local minority-owned and operated magazine that was held in the City of St. Louis on May 1, 2014.

-          have a half-hour weekly “Job Talk” radio program which features businesses and colleges discussing job openings and job and career counseling for our listening audience. “Job Talk” announces job vacancies at the SEU when they occur.

The SEU also contacted recruitment sources and updated its list of such sources to ensure the accuracy of its contact information when full-time vacancies occur.
