The licensee of KXEN is BDJ Radio Enterprises, LLC (“BDJ”).  The licensee of WGNU is 920 AM, LLC (“920 AM”). The two licensees have common ownership.  KXEN is operated pursuant to a Local Marketing Agreement between its licensee and Radio Property Ventures, LLC (“RPV”), as programmer. WGNU is operated pursuant to a Local Marketing Agreement between its licensee and What’s wGNU, LLC (“wGNU”), as programmer.  The principals of RPV and wGNU  are the principals of BDJ and 920 AM.

No vacancies for full-time positions occurred during the reporting period.  When WGNU was acquired at the end of September 2007, some of the station’s pre-existing full-time employees were retained.  However, no new full-time employees were recruited or hired.  Accordingly, there is no data to report with respect to full-time vacancies or recruitment sources utilized during the Reporting Period.

Prior to the acquisition of WGNU, the SEU (then consisting only of KXEN) had less than five full-time employees.  Thus, it has only been since WGNU was acquired one year ago that the SEU became subject to the FCC’s EEO recruitment and reporting requirements.  With respect to outreach initiatives during the Reporting Period, the SEU laid the groundwork for, but did not engage in any such initiatives.  Among the outreach initiatives contemplated by the SEU for the next reporting period (October 1, 2008 thru September 30, 2009) are:

(a) establishment of an internship program at KXEN and WGNU for students from local area high schools and/or colleges;

(b) listing vacancies for upper-level job openings (if any) with job banks maintained by media trade groups whose members include substantial numbers of women and minorities, e.g., American Women in Radio & Television;

(c) establishment of a mentoring program for station personnel;

(d) providing training to management-level personnel as to methods to ensure equal employment opportunity and prevent discrimination;

(e) establishment of an in-house training program for employees to acquire skills necessary to qualify them for higher level positions; and/or

(f) other initiatives itemized in Section 73.2080(c)(2) of the FCC’s rules.
